Ron J. Keller is the Lincoln College Associate Professor of History and Political Science and, Director/Curator of the Lincoln College Museum in Lincoln, IL. Employed with the college since 2000, Keller has taught in both the private and public school settings, and in elementary, secondary and, collegiate levels.
Keller earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Eastern Illinois University, and has taken undertaken coursework with Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. Specialties and interests are American political history and American slave history.
Keller is chief editor, researcher and writer of the scholarly publication The Lincoln Newsletter, published three times a year and distributed to Lincoln historians and enthusiasts nationally and internationally. He has curated several special exhibits on Abraham Lincoln for the Lincoln College Museum, including one on the Underground Railroad. He has provided book and manuscript reviews, and forewords for several books as well. Keller co-wrote and co-produced the award-winning documentary From Surveyor to President: A Lincoln in Logan County which won a Special Citation from the Lincoln Group of New York for the greatest contribution to the scholarship of Abraham Lincoln in 2004.
For his teaching efforts, he is a multi-year recipient of the prestigious Who's Who Among American Teachers in American Colleges. Keller is a community activist, serving on several commissions and boards.
